This week Stay The Trail was able to 2 attend Education/Outreach Events. Below is a short summery for each event.
Toytec Customer Appreciation Day-Saturday 6/15/2019
Toytec Lifts are a growing company manufacturing aftermarket
suspension component for Toyota 4×4 vehicles and is celebrated their 15 th anniversary
this year. Toytec has been a long time and huge supporter of Stay The Trail, our mission
and goals.
Each year they host an Open House/Customer Appreciation Day with vendors, raffle,
food and more. STT was invited to help educate the 4×4 community on the importance
of responsible trail use and bring awareness to the program. With over 400 people in attendance we were able to talk about current conditions and answer a variety of questions that attendees had. The STT RC Challenge Course was set-up to help engage youth and demonstrate the STT principles and we were able to run over 60 youth through the course.
Yankee Hill Trailhead Outreach-Sunday 6/16/2019
Stay The Trail met with the OHV crew for the Clear Creek Ranger District
to preform education and outreach to the users in the Yankee Hill and Devils Canyon
area within the Clear Creek Ranger District on Sunday June, 16th. Stay The Trail was able to help the local
crew to educate users at the trailhead and within the trail systems for this area. We
visited a few different sites to discuss issues in these areas including resource
damage, signage issues, and confusing ‘braided’ trail areas. Together we were able to
communicate with over 40 users directly on the trail and offer free OHV maps for the
area and answer questions about current conditions and local seasonal closures.
