Volunteer Opportunity! – Indy Trail Maintenance, October 10th

There is going to be a trail maintenance day at Indy (in the Penrose OHV area) on Saturday, October 10th.  Anyone that has been down there recently knows that the exit is back to being pretty much undriveable.  We’ve known that there was going to have to be work done and were waiting to get a date from the BLM.  I just talked to them, and they said it would be nice if we could get the work done on the 10th because Stay The Trail is scheduled to be there on the 11th (Sunday).  That way the work would be done for anyone that showed up then to run the trail.

As always, I’m asking for any help we can get to do the work as quickly as possible.  We will be setting some slabs at the exit and anchoring them in.  the plan is to leave the exit very difficult, but make it somewhat driveable.  We’ll also be doing the regular cleanup and painting of winch anchors.  We will provide hand tools, trash bags, paint, etc.  You will just need to bring gloves, sunscreen, water, lunch, etc.  There will be a few of us meeting at Michelle’s in Penrose at 8:00am for breakfast if anyone is interested, and then we’ll start working about 9:00am.  Meet at the main staging area for Indy about 8:45 if you are not going to Michelles.
