Denver, CO - The Responsible Recreation Foundation and Stay The Trail took a new approach towards advertising the responsible recreation message this past holiday season, sponsoring a float in the annual 9News Parade of Lights through Downtown Denver. The parade was attended by over 400,000 people between Friday, December 4th and Saturday, December 5th. There was also a one-hour telecast on 9News, shot directly in front of the decorated Denver City and County Building. Helping us out on the float were Chris Sporl and his family and Jane Leche from the Forest Service, as well as Greg Labbe from the Responsible Recreation Foundation and his granddaughter. Ted Bendelow and Jo Teague from the Northern Colorado Trail Riders rode their dirtbikes alongside the float each night. Stay The Trail’s Yamaha ATV was operated by Adam Pitchford on Friday and Corey Corbett on Saturday, and Tom Reed rode his Polaris ATV both nights. Wrapping up the volunteer effort was a Kawasaki UTV loaned to us by Fay Myers Motorcycle World, driven by Corey Corbett on Friday and Valerie Douglas on Saturday. Many thanks to all that helped with this amazing event!!!
