ATV Historical Color Tour

Posted by Mike on October 15, 2007

Each year Buena Vista, Colorado hosts the annual ATV Historical Color Tour. In talking to many participants, the highlight of this years event would have to be the weather. The Stay The Trail trailer was open for visitors each morning at the Buena Vista Community Center and everyday the skies were blue with few, if any, clouds. Riders were able to gather information from the trailer before, during and after breakfast each morning.

Participants of this 4 x 4 all terrain vehicle rally visit the area’s old mining sites and ghost towns on self-guided tours, go to the top of a 14′er, cross the continental divide, and take in the fall colors and great fall weather. People come from all over the country to attend this annual ride. Carl Bauer, owner of the Liar’s Lodge Bed and Breakfast, along with some very dedicated helpers, organizes the event each year.

This week long event, takes the entire year to prepare for and the organizers were already talking about what they needed to do for next year. The various rides each day range from easy to difficult. If you like riding an ATV and viewing some of the best scenery in the state, this is the event to attend.
